The George J. Smith House is a Queen Anne style frame house on Albany Avenue (NY Route 32) in Kingston, New York, built in 1885. The three story building has steeply pitched, multiple intersecting gable roofs and projecting bays covered in red shingles. It was the home of George J. Smith, a Kingston businessman who founded the Powell Cigar Company, later the American Cigar Company, and who served a single term in the U.S. House of Representatives beginning in 1902. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places on November 15, 2002; its lower floor is now a Montessori school and its upper floor an apartment, and the 1.03 acre property includes a contributing carriage house garage.
