Ghalib ki Haveli

Ghalib ki Haveli is a nineteenth century mansion in Gali Qasim Jan in the Ballimaran neighborhood of Old Delhi's Chandni Chowk area, once the home of the Urdu and Persian poet Mirza Ghalib. A physician named Hakim gave Ghalib the property after the poet moved to Delhi from Agra, and Ghalib lived there for an extended period while composing celebrated collections of poetry. The Delhi government established the haveli as a permanent memorial museum on December 27, 2000, and the Archaeological Survey of India now protects it as a heritage site; it displays Ghalib's handwritten poems, personal manuscripts and period furnishings alongside a life sized sculpture of the poet, and admission is free.
