The Grand Ring is a circular wooden pavilion built for Expo 2025 in Osaka, Japan, on the artificial island of Yumeshima. Designed by architect Sou Fujimoto and completed in 2025, it covers roughly 61,000 square meters and was recognized by Guinness World Records as the largest wooden architectural structure on earth. The ring stands about 20 meters high and combines traditional Japanese wooden joinery with modern construction methods, using a mix of domestic Japanese cedar and cypress with imported Scots pine. A rooftop walkway roughly 2 kilometers long runs along its top, reached by escalators and elevators.
