Harvard Exit Theatre

The Harvard Exit Theatre is a building in Seattle, Washington, built in 1925 as the clubhouse of the Womans Century Club. Jim Osteen and Art Bernstein converted it into a cinema in 1968 and 1969, holding a grand opening preview screening on 20 May 1969, and it operated under Landmark Theaters as a movie house, keeping its 1968 sale condition that the lobby remain unaltered, until it closed as a cinema in 2015. The developer Scott Shapiro then bought the building and converted it to office and restaurant space, and the Consulate of Mexico leased space there around July 2018. The Womans Century Club still meets in the building on the third Friday of each month, and the building was for a time reported to be haunted by the ghost of a woman in 1920s dress, with sightings recorded until 1987.
