Jemima Wilkinson House

Residential Buildings

The Jemima Wilkinson House, also known as the Friend's Home, is a historic residence at Jerusalem in Yates County, New York. It is a five-bay, two and a half story house in the Federal style, built about 1809 to 1815, and it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994. The house is best known for its occupant: it was the home of Jemima Wilkinson, who came to be called the Public Universal Friend, and it served as the base of the Society of Universal Friends. Its construction date is recorded only as a range, so the build years are given here exactly as the source gives them rather than narrowed to a single year, and the architect is not stated in the article text that this entry was written from.
