The Klimt Villa is a building in the Hietzing district of Vienna, Austria, built around the studio the painter Gustav Klimt occupied from around 1911 until his death in 1918, though the two story neoclassical villa seen today was expanded beginning in 1922 from the plainer single story cottage Klimt actually used. Opened to the public in 2012 and run by the Comenius Institute, it now operates as a museum whose reconstructed ground floor recreates the studio and reception room Klimt used, drawing on 1918 photographs and contemporary accounts of his final years.
