Korea Furniture Museum

The Korea Furniture Museum is a private museum in Seongbuk-dong, Seongbuk District, Seoul, South Korea, founded by Chyung Mi-sook and opened in 1993. It is arranged as a village of traditional Korean aristocratic houses, or hanok, built to display the museum's collection of roughly 2,500 pieces of wooden furniture from the Joseon dynasty, of which about 550 are on view at any one time. The museum's buildings and grounds are also presented as an illustration of Korean architectural aesthetics, including the principle of borrowed scenery, or chagyeong, and the use of natural materials in traditional design.
