Les Jolies Eaux

Les Jolies Eaux is a house on the island of Mustique, in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, given to Princess Margaret in 1959 by Colin Tennant, later Lord Glenconner, as a wedding gift. The main house, completed in 1972 on the ten acre property, was designed by the theatre designer Oliver Messel in a neo Georgian style that mixed Caribbean building traditions with eighteenth century European influences. Princess Margaret used the house as a retreat, entertaining aristocratic and Hollywood guests there, until her son David Armstrong Jones inherited it in 1996 and sold the property in 1999. It now operates as a private rental villa.
