Longford Castle

Longford Castle is a Grade I listed country house on the banks of the River Avon south of Salisbury, Wiltshire, England, built for Sir Thomas Gorges to an unusual triangular plan by the architect John Thorpe between about 1576 and 1591. The house was remodeled in the early nineteenth century under James Wyatt and restored again in the 1870s by Anthony Salvin, and it has long been the seat of the Earls of Radnor. It remains the home of William Pleydell-Bouverie, 9th Earl of Radnor, and its rooms, art collection and gardens are opened to the public on select days each year.
