The Millau Viaduct is a multi span cable stayed road bridge across the gorge of the River Tarn near Millau in southern France, completed in 2004 to a design by architect Norman Foster and structural engineer Michel Virlogeux. Carrying the A75 autoroute over a crossing 2,460 meters long, it reaches a total height of 343 meters, a record that made it the tallest bridge in the world for more than two decades, and it is regarded as a landmark of contemporary engineering driven architecture.
