Mysore Palace

Mysore Palace, also known as the Amba Vilas Palace, is a historic palace and royal residence in Mysore, Karnataka, India, that served as the official residence of the Wadiyar dynasty and the seat of the Kingdom of Mysore. Commissioned by Krishnaraja Wodeyar IV in August 1897 after the earlier structure was destroyed by fire, its design is attributed to the British architect Henry Irwin, who had earlier designed the Madras High Court, together with Edwin Wolleston Fritchley, who later designed the Lalitha Mahal; construction began in 1897 and finished in 1912. It is the largest of Mysore's seven palaces and a prominent example of Indo-Saracenic architecture, blending Indo-Islamic, Rajput, Hoysala and Gothic styles.
