Reinhold Richter Villa

The Reinhold Richter Villa is an early 20th-century residence at Skorupki Street 6/8 in Lodz, Poland, designed in an irregular style influenced by German and English models by the architect Ignatius Stebelski and built between 1903 and 1904 for the prominent Lodz resident Reinhold Richter. After Richter's death in 1930 the villa remained in family hands until the Second World War, and it later housed several educational institutions before being formally transferred to Lodz University of Technology in 1956. Following renovations carried out between 1978 and 1985, the villa became the seat of the university's Rector, a role it was formally inaugurated into on May 24, 1985, coinciding with the university's fortieth anniversary.
