A steel building is a metal structure built with steel for both its internal support and its exterior cladding, distinct from a steel framed building, which uses other materials for its floors and walls. Steel is manufactured to strict standards, resists warping and bending, and gives designers flexibility in shaping a structure. Steel buildings are put to a wide range of uses including storage, workspaces and living accommodation, with the specific classification depending on the intended use of the building.
