The Residence, also known as Woodberry, is a historic home on the grounds of Woodberry Forest School in Madison County, Virginia. It was built in 1793, reputedly to plans associated with Thomas Jefferson, for William Madison, brother of President James Madison. The house was extensively enlarged and altered in 1884. It is a one-and-a-half-story, wood-frame, Federal-style residence with a pedimented Tuscan-order portico on its front facade, weatherboard siding, and its original hipped roof. A contributing smokehouse also stands on the property.
