Villa Certosa

Villa Certosa is a private residence in Porto Rotondo, on the island of Sardinia, Italy, known chiefly for having been one of the summer residences of the Italian media magnate and prime minister Silvio Berlusconi. Berlusconi bought the property, then called Villa Monastero, from the businessman Flavio Carboni in the 1980s and renamed it, later renovating and expanding it to a design by the architect Gianni Gamondi. During Berlusconi's terms as prime minister the villa hosted a series of foreign leaders, including United States President George W. Bush, British Prime Minister Tony Blair, and Russian President Vladimir Putin. After Berlusconi's death in 2023 his heirs put the estate up for sale, and by mid-2026 they had accepted a binding offer of about 350 million euros from Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jaber Al Thani of Qatar's ruling family.
