Villa Niscemi is a Renaissance and Baroque villa in the northwestern part of Palermo, Sicily, near La Favorita park, begun in the sixteenth century and completed in the eighteenth. It was the main residence of the noble Valguarnera family for about three centuries, who remodeled it late in the 1700s to give it a more Baroque character and filled it with paintings, frescoes, and other artwork. The Comune of Palermo bought the three story villa from the Valguarnera family in 1987, and it now serves as a representative headquarters for the mayor of Palermo.
