Villa Paul Poiret

Villa Paul Poiret is an Art Deco house at Mezy-sur-Seine in the Yvelines department west of Paris, built in 1924 and 1925 to a Cubism inspired design by architect Robert Mallet-Stevens in reinforced concrete. Fashion designer Paul Poiret commissioned the 25 room, roughly 8,600 square foot house in 1921, overlooking the Seine valley, but sold it in 1930 to actress Elvira Popescu, who altered its design toward a streamlined paquebot, or ocean liner, style. The villa was listed as a historic landmark in 1984 and has been under restoration since 1999 under the oversight of French heritage authorities.
