Villa Torneamento

Villa Torneamento, known locally as The Castle, is an 18th-century villa in the San Fruttuoso district of Monza in northern Italy, built by the Blondel family and later owned by the Croce and Bertoglio families. In the 19th century the Brambilla family commissioned the architect Giuseppe Balzaretto to remodel the building in an eclectic style, adding battlements and corner towers to its three-story U-shaped plan; its interior retains a grand two-flight staircase and a two-story central hall decorated with historical scenes. A religious institution, the Daughters of Divine Zeal, now owns the villa and operates a nursery and primary school there.
