Villa Valmarana ai Nani

Villa Valmarana ai Nani is a villa at the foot of the city gates of Vicenza, Veneto, Italy, with its main building completed in 1670. It is known for its frescoes by Giambattista Tiepolo and his son Giovanni Domenico Tiepolo, and for the stone statues of dwarves lining its garden wall, which give the villa its name, nani being Italian for dwarves. The Valmarana family, an aristocratic Vicentine family, bought the villa in 1720, and their descendants still own it today; the ai Nani designation distinguishes it from the family's other, better-known property, the Palladio-designed Villa Capra La Rotonda. It now operates as a historic house museum open to visitors.
