Villa Wartholz, also called Castle Wartholz, is a former imperial villa in Reichenau an der Rax, in Lower Austria, built between 1870 and 1872 by the architect Heinrich von Ferstel in the Historicist style as a hunting lodge for Archduke Karl Ludwig of Austria. Despite its castle like form, the building served recreational rather than military purposes and was sited to overlook the valley below. The villa was privately owned as of the early 1980s and since 2008 has hosted an annual literature competition.
