Villa Zanelli

Villa Zanelli is a historic villa on Via Nizza in Savona, in the Liguria region of Italy, built in 1907 for sea captain Nicolo Zanelli and his family to designs by architects Gottardo Gussoni of Turin and Pietro Fenoglio, in the Italian Liberty style, the local variant of Art Nouveau. The municipality of Milan bought the villa in 1933 and converted it into a camping site and international colony, and it later served as a hospital camp during the Second World War. The building closed in 1998 because of structural damage, and a major restoration led by the firm Dodi Moss in 2017 repaired the gardens and adapted the villa for its current use, opening it to the public as a hotel and museum.
