122 Leadenhall Street is a 225-meter (738-foot) office skyscraper in the City of London, designed by Rogers Stirk Harbour and Partners under Richard Rogers and completed in 2013, opening to occupants in 2014. Standing 48 floors tall next to the Lloyd Building, it is informally known as the Cheesegrater for its distinctive wedge-shaped profile, a design deliberately tapered to preserve protected sightlines of St Paul Cathedral. The tower is built on a steel megaframe rather than a conventional concrete core, described as the tallest structure of its kind in the world, and its ground level opens onto a thirty-meter public atrium. It cost 1.15 billion pounds to build and counts the insurance broker Aon among its major tenants.
