A measure of how friendly an area is to walking, shaped by block size, street connectivity, mixed land use, sidewalk quality and perceived safety. It is a central goal of the New Urbanism and Fifteen-Minute City movements, offered as a counter to the car-dependent postwar suburban planning pattern.
