Leigh-Pemberton House

Cultural and Institutional Buildings

The Leigh-Pemberton House is a half-timbered Tudor building on Castle Square in Lincoln, England, on Bailgate between Lincoln Cathedral and Lincoln Castle. Built in 1543 for a merchant, it served as a bank from 1899 until 1979, when Sir Robin Leigh-Pemberton, then chairman of the National Westminster Bank and later Governor of the Bank of England, donated it to the city of Lincoln, which renamed it after him. The building underwent major restoration in 1929 and again in 1970 and was designated a Grade II* listed building in 1953. Has Building Type

Castle, Concepts

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
