Poggio Reale (villa)

Palaces and Aristocratic Residences

The villa of Poggio Reale was an Italian Renaissance royal summer residence in Naples, commissioned in 1487 by Alfonso II of Naples and designed by the Florentine architect Giuliano da Maiano, substantially completed by 1490 with Moorish influenced Aragonese details. Considered one of the most important buildings of the Neapolitan Renaissance and influential enough to be illustrated in Sebastiano Serlio's 16th century architectural treatise, the villa was destroyed and its site built over in the early 19th century by the Cemetery of Poggioreale, so nothing of the original structure survives today. Has Building Type

Villa, Concepts

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
