In 1880 the architect Frank Furness remodeled the house, adding a shingled third story and four distinctive corbeled chimneys, giving the building the Late Victorian character it carries today alongside its Georgian core. The property, which covers about three acres, was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 8, 1982.
