Neomodern Architecture

Neomodern architecture, also called New Modernism, is a reaction to the complexity and eclecticism of postmodern architecture, seeking a return to greater simplicity. Like modernism before it, it rejects classical ornamentation and pre-modernist tradition in favor of monolithic, functional design, and it has continued as a dominant form of building, particularly for corporate architecture, through the late twentieth and into the twenty-first century. The style emphasizes rationalism, mathematics and calculation as sources of aesthetic experience, prizing utility and economy over decoration and deliberate historicism, and its outlook has been described as one of comprehensive individualism and relativism rather than a single dictated look.
