Iraqi British architect, 1950 to 2016, whose fluid, sweeping buildings, the MAXXI museum in Rome, the Heydar Aliyev Center in Baku, the London Aquatics Centre, carried a radical geometric imagination from famously unbuilt paper projects into built reality. In 2004 she became the first woman awarded the Pritzker Architecture Prize.
