Fenis Castle is a medieval castle in the town of Fenis in the Aosta Valley of Italy, about 13 kilometers from Aosta, known for its towers and battlemented curtain walls arranged in a pentagonal plan. It is first documented in 1242 under the Challant family, Viscounts of Aosta, who expanded it between 1320 and 1420 under Aymon of Challant and his son Boniface I, and who held it until 1716. Despite its fortified appearance, the castle served mainly as a prestigious residence, with decorated courtyards and frescoes by the painter Giacomo Jaquerio. The Autonomous Region of Aosta Valley now owns the castle and operates it as a museum, following restorations carried out in 1895 by the architect Alfredo d'Andrade and again in 1935.
