The Grand Palais des Champs-Elysees, generally known as the Grand Palais, is a historic exhibition hall and museum complex in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, France, between the Champs-Elysees and the Seine on Avenue Winston-Churchill. Construction began in 1897 on the site of the demolished Palais de l Industrie, in preparation for the 1900 Universal Exposition, which also produced the neighboring Petit Palais and the Pont Alexandre III.
