The Metropolitan Museum of Art, known colloquially as the Met, is an encyclopedic art museum building on the edge of Central Park in New York City. It is the fourth largest museum in the world by floor area and the largest art museum in the Americas, drawing more than 5.7 million visitors in its 2025 fiscal year.
