Palazzina Gonzaghesca di Bosco Fontana

The Palazzina Gonzaghesca di Bosco Fontana stands near Marmirolo outside Mantua, in Lombardy, Italy, built at the end of the sixteenth century for Duke Vincenzo I Gonzaga by the architects Giuseppe Dattaro and Antonio Maria Viani. Its Renaissance design combines the features of a villa, a castle and a hunting lodge, with four corner towers resembling castle turrets and a surrounding moat. It served as a hunting lodge stocked with exotic game in the surrounding forest, and the building and its adjoining lands are now managed by the local park service.
