Santanoni Preserve is the site of a former private Adirondack Great Camp estate of about thirteen thousand acres at Newcomb Lake near Newcomb, New York, now owned by the State of New York. The Main Camp buildings were constructed in 1892 and 1893, with a Gate Lodge designed in 1905 and farm buildings added around 1902, all built in a rustic Adirondack style of log construction that also drew on Japanese architectural influences. The property is a National Historic Landmark, designated in 2000, and was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987. It remains open to the public year round, with seasonal guided tours of the historic camp buildings.
