The bronze and glass tower on Park Avenue, New York, by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe with Philip Johnson, completed in 1958 and set back behind its own open plaza. The most refined of all International Style towers and the model for a generation of corporate headquarters, its plaza also reshaped New York zoning incentives for public space.
