Villa Lante al Gianicolo

Palaces and Aristocratic Residences

Villa Lante al Gianicolo is a summer villa on the Janiculum Hill in Rome, designed in 1520 and 1521 by Giulio Romano for Baldassare Turini as one of Romano's first independent commissions after the death of his master Raphael. Built on ground believed to have held the house of the Roman poet Martial, the villa today belongs to the Republic of Finland and houses the Institutum Romanum Finlandiae and the Finnish embassy to the Holy See. Has Building Type

Villa, Concepts

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
