The Fortress of San Leo is a castle on the border of Italy's Romagna and Marche regions, rebuilt from an earlier fortification in 1441 for Federico da Montefeltro to a design attributed to Francesco di Giorgio Martini. It later served the Papal States as a prison, holding inmates including Felice Orsini and the occultist Alessandro Cagliostro, who died there. Today the fortress is a museum and art gallery, and it appeared as a filming location in the 1991 film Hudson Hawk.
