Centre Pompidou

SAHN-truh pom-pee-DOO
Also Known As Centre Georges Pompidou, Beaubourg
Cultural and Institutional Buildings

The arts center in Paris by Renzo Piano and Richard Rogers, opened in 1977, which turned the building inside out: structure, ducts, and escalators worn on the exterior in coded colors so the floors inside stay completely free. Scandalous when new, it became one of the most visited cultural buildings in Europe and the flagship of high-tech architecture.

Entity-backed identity for the building-type enum value this building already carries, resolved to an architecture concept by an explicit value-to-entity map (phase 3 bucket conversion, docs\design_entity_backed_browse_buckets_20260928.md). The building-type fact itself stays on the building unchanged.
