American architect, 1867 to 1959, who over a seventy year career invented the Prairie house, preached an organic architecture grown from site and material, and produced in Fallingwater, Taliesin, the Johnson Wax building and the spiral Guggenheim Museum some of the most original buildings of the twentieth century. Eight of his works are inscribed together on the World Heritage List.
